One year after graduation, 26% of students with mental retardation have no active program (including employment, day program alternatives, post-secondary education, etc) as compared to only 4% of general education students)
In cooperation with the NYCC, Harmony Village will provide an institute for continuing education and personal enrichment for residents of all ages, mental and physical abilities. The ultimate goal of the institute is to enable residents to live fuller, richer, more productive lives through community training, educational and social programs that will transcend beyond the village/neighborhood and be a transition to their next stage in life.
